In 2014, she went into treatment for lupus, and in 2020 revealed that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. The Selena Gomez Apple documentary is not the first time she has opened up about her mental health. It follows her rise to stardom with a “uniquely raw and intimate” peak into her life that “spans her six-year journey to a new light.” Alek Keshishian, who worked with the star before for the Hands to Myself music video and helmed the Madonna doc Truth or Dare, directed the film. Today Apple unveiled the trailer (seen below) for My Mind & Me, a documentary on Selena Gomez that will see her open up about her mental health.
